The victory of the team led byscrawlgrapher Tatiana Kramarenko in the competition of installations within the Architectural and Art Festival "VEZHA 3.0". And how we defended our creation before the jury.
First, I want to share my impressions of 5 unforgettable days in Svirzh Castle, where three teams created their installations on the theme "Form of my independence".
This was my first experience:
- participation in an art residence,
- to lead a team of artists,
- live presentation of the art object to a high-level jury,
- TV interviews
- and the first experience of victory at such an event!
First, I want to share my impressions of 5 unforgettable days in Svirzh Castle, where three teams created their installations on the theme "Form of my independence".
This was my first experience:
- participation in an art residence,
- to lead a team of artists,
- live presentation of the art object to a high-level jury,
- TV interviews
- and the first experience of victory at such an event!
Each of the participants will have their own vision of the topic, but unanimously all members of the team did not accept any of them. Then we started all over again - with a team brainstorming. That's how the idea of installation was born.
Our team worked fruitfully. Therefore, we were able to peacefully find the idea and concept of the installation, which we all liked. I believe that this was the secret of our victory - we were equally strongly "burned" by our creation, believed in it and presented our common vision of the form of our independence.

The concept of installation "Direction 1"
The shape of the installation together with the well resembles a sundial. We are primarily dependent on time and we are not able to control this dependence.
That is why we believe that there is no absolute independence.
Throughout our lives, we try to free ourselves from everything that limits us. Glass symbolizes the things we depend on and can change, but we don't always notice.
The glass was intentionally left dirty, because it is the dirt that does not transmit light in the direction in which we are moving. But this can be changed by wiping it yourself or waiting for the rain.
Glass, like dependence, is arranged in such a way that it prevents us from moving in the direction of the freedom we so long for.
Perspective, on the contrary, symbolizes the movement forward. The installation have a point of convergence in which the person is. From this point, the illusion is created that all pieces of glass are the same size.
Our installation is aimed at the light source, and this is what we emphasized with the color of its frame. But when the light disappears - the sound helps not to get lost in the dark.

I would also like to emphasize the incredibly warm atmosphere that prevailed among all participants of the festival (and there were many of them: artists, architects, theatergoers, performers, artists, students, jury, guests, lecturers, curators, organizers, etc.).
5 days flew by very quickly, but at the same time before leaving there was a feeling that I was at home a couple of months ago. So many events and impressions!
